ISOPE Membership Application
The membership of the ISOPE is limited to those individuals and organizations who fulfill membership requirements including the payment of dues and fees, and whose paper was ever accepted for one of the ISOPE meetings or Journal, or who receive endorsement of qualifications from one of the ISOPE members for membership. The membership of the Society shall not be limited by nationality, race, color, creed, or sex, but shall be limited to those individuals and organizations who fulfill membership requirements including the payment of dues and fees, and whose paper was ever accepted for one of the ISOPE meetings or Journal, or who receive endorsement of qualifications from one of the ISOPE members for membership. Levels of ISOPE membership and the associated qualifications are as follows:

Member |
The applicant must hold a college degree, equivalent to a four-year B.S. degree, in any of the branches of engineering or basic or applied sciences, and must have at least six years' active practice after a college degree in the application of the sciences to any branch of offshore, ocean, polar, materials or related applied engineering. Three years of this experience must be in a position of responsibility. Master's degree or equivalent equals one year of employment, and doctoral degree equals two years of employment. Dues: US$130 per year. |
Associate Member |
The applicant must hold a college degree equivalent to a four-year B.S. degree in any of the branches of engineering or basic or applied sciences, and must be or has been engaged in work related to offshore, ocean, polar, materials or related applied engineering. Master's degree or equivalent equals one year of employment, and doctoral degree equals two years of employment. Dues: US$130 per year. |
Student Member |
The applicant must be a full-time student in good standing at a college or equivalent institute approved by the Board of Directors of the Society. The person must be endorsed by an instructor, preferably an ISOPE member. Student members have voting rights only after promotion to the grade of Associate Member. Dues: US$70 per year. |
All fee-paid members receive all conference and symposium programs and newsletters, and lower member rates for the conference registration fees and the publications. All fee-paid members will receive complimentary journal copies regardless of the member grade.
